Welcome Scott Yanco!

The Max Planck - Yale Center for Biodiversity Movement and Global Change is thrilled to welcome our new Postdoctoral Associate Scott Yanco to the team. Scott comes to us after completing his PhD in Integrative and Systems Biology at the University of Colorado Denver earlier this year. Scott’s dissertation work focused on the eco-evolutionary drivers of organismal adaptations to seasonality, with particular emphasis on migration. At the MPYC, Scott will continue to explore the ultimate drivers and consequences of behaviors like migration by trying to quantify the realized niche of individual migrants across the annual cycle. Improving our understanding of how migration modifies the environmental conditions individuals experience is critically important for making better predictions about the behavior and distribution of migratory species under a changing climate.
