Tracking wildlife through the Anthropause

MPYC contributed to a significant article published in Nature Ecology and Evolution that is helping answer the question on everyone's minds since we settled into quarantine due to COVID-19: How has wildlife been effected with so much less human activity? These extraordinary circumstances pose as a significant opportunity for researchers to truly get a clear picture of the human impact on our wildlife. It has resulted in a new term coined the "anthropause". The article introduces the term to specifically recognize the lock-down period in consideration of the global slowing of modern human activities such as travel.

While the lock-down may seem to be dragging on a personal level, in the big picture, the time will be fleeting. So, how can researchers and conservationists utilize this opportunity to help right now? Read more on the steps that need to be taken during this anthropause here
