MPYC flagship project receives endorsement by United Nations

The International COVID-19 Bio-Logging Initiative, a flagship project of the MPYC, recently received a ten year endorsement from the United Nations Decade for Ocean Restoration. The COVID-19 Bio-Logging Initiative seeks to advance our understanding of human-wildlife interactions by investigating how terrestrial and marine animals responded to altered levels of human activity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Endorsement by the United Nations will facilitate and accelerate the implementation of research findings into policy and decision making, particularly towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 14 and 15 which aim for the sustainable use and conservation of terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
